課程概述 |
We shall discuss how organizations and institutions affect people’s behavior, and how they shape our society and economic performance. |
課程目標 |
Students are expected to learn to appreciate the important role played by organizations and institutions. Through discussion of a set of very diverse topics, they will become senstive to this subject. Besides being able to discuss important literature with a critical mind, students are expected to learn how to formulate and analyze a problem on their own.

The students will be assigned homework problems regularly. They are expected to develop modelling technique and problem solving ability when doing homework. They are supposed to finish reading the book by Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson (2012) before the midterm, and feel ready to present the authors’ ideas. A critical discussion of the book’s chapters will be made every week after the midterm. |
